you have heard it said, ‘love your neighbor and hate your enemy’
you have heard it said, ‘love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you’
‘but-i say to you, love your love and hate your hate.’

Balancing Love and Hate
I have spent the last two months working
working on balancing love and hate in a
a just and healthy way
just to see if there is a way
a way to balance love and hate.
Try this:
Imagine a seesaw or scale.
Imagine the centerpiece holding the seesaw or scale.
Name that centerpiece “to”
In this balance place love on one end
and hate on the other end.
Now say it.
Love to hate.
Hate to love.
(No justice or health there.)
Imagine this:
In this balance place love on one end
and love on the other end.
Now say it.
Love to love.
Imagine this:
In this balance place hate on one end
and hate on the other end.
Now say it.
Hate to hate.
Now we have health and justice.

John 20
it is said – when it was
evening, one of the days after
jesus was buried, the
disciples were in a room
behind closed doors and
afraid – jesus appeared
and said – ‘peace be with
you.’
so – when i am afraid
i wait in the room of
my fear – for the peace
not knowing what else to do.
